Why this textbook

Every introductory psychology textbook on the market today operates inside an implicit ethical framework — usually secular, usually undeclared. Introduction to General Psychology is the first to write the framework into the text itself. Every concept — cognition, memory, development, personality, treatment — is presented inside the Catholic-Christian Meta-Model of the Person.

The textbook meets the standards of the APA Introductory Psychology Initiative and uses evidence-based pedagogy (backwards design, active learning, scaffolded narrative), so it works as a primary text in Catholic colleges, seminaries, and advanced high-school psychology courses. Catholic students get an intro to the field that does not require them to set their faith aside; secular students get an intro to the field that names the framework it uses.

The book is currently in the research-and-development phase. Chapters are being outlined, written, and reviewed; companion online tools (assessment platform, instructor portal, video library, LMS integrations) are scoped and ready to build. Reaching publication requires funding the editorial work, illustrations, digital ecosystem, and first print run that turn a manuscript into a usable classroom resource.
