Accessibility Statement

Divine Mercy University's commitment to digital accessibility and reasonable accommodations under the ADA and Section 504.

Our commitment

Divine Mercy University is committed to providing an accessible website experience and educational environment for all visitors, applicants, students, faculty, staff, and community members, including people with disabilities. We work to meet the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to comply with applicable provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

What we do

  • Build and maintain divinemercyuniversity.com using current accessibility best practices: semantic HTML, alt text on meaningful images, keyboard-navigable interfaces, sufficient color contrast, and clear focus indicators.
  • Provide closed captions on video content where applicable, and structured transcripts for podcasts and recorded lectures.
  • Review the site periodically and remediate accessibility issues as they're identified or reported.

Reporting an accessibility issue

If you encounter content on this website that is not accessible to you, or you need information in an alternate format, please contact us so we can help and address the issue:

  • Email: info@divinemercy.edu
  • Phone: (703) 416-1441
  • Mail: Accessibility Coordinator, Divine Mercy University, 45154 Underwood Lane, Sterling, VA 20166

When reporting a barrier, please include the page URL and a brief description of the issue so we can investigate and respond quickly.

Disability services for students

Currently enrolled students seeking academic accommodations or disability support services should contact DMU's Disability Support Services. See Disability Services & Accommodations for the request process, documentation requirements, and timelines.

Third-party content

This site links to and embeds content from third-party platforms (Sanity-hosted images, YouTube videos, Google Docs, payment portals, and Populi). While we encourage and prefer accessible third-party content, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of every external service. Please report third-party accessibility barriers using the contact information above and we will work with the vendor or provide an accessible alternative.

Ongoing improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We welcome feedback and will continue to refine the site, our content authoring processes, and our educational delivery to remove barriers wherever we find them.
