Together, we can equip a new generation of professionals to bring hope, compassion, and Christ-centered healing to the world.
With over 1,200 alumni serving across the globe, a growing community of 650 students, and representation from more than 30 countries, DMU is forming Christ-centered professionals who bring healing worldwide. As an APA-accredited institution, we remain committed to academic excellence and an authentic Catholic-Christian understanding of the human person — yet more than 80% of our students rely on financial aid to make their education possible.

Memorial Gifts & Funds
Honor a loved one or celebrate someone's legacy by making a gift in their name. A memorial or honorary gift is a meaningful way to share faith, compassion, and healing through the education of Divine Mercy University students. Your tribute becomes a lasting blessing for those who serve.
If you'd like to make a memorial gift, simply make a note of your wishes and send it in with the donation. For larger memorial funds or named scholarships, contact our Donor Relations Manager.
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stocks or securities can be one of the most effective ways to support Divine Mercy University. You may avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a charitable deduction for the full market value of your gift. Your investment today helps form tomorrow's faith-filled mental health professionals.
A gift of stock can be made by asking your stockbroker to transfer the shares you'd like to donate to Divine Mercy University. To get the transfer instructions and ensure proper acknowledgment, contact our Donor Relations Manager first.
Matching Gifts
Your gift can go twice as far. Many corporations and foundations have programs in place to match gifts from their employees, typically on a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. When making your gift to DMU, be sure to ask your employer's HR department whether they'll match — it can double or even triple your impact at no additional cost to you.
Gifts through a Will or Living Trust
The simplest way to impact the work of Divine Mercy University long after your lifetime is by updating your will or living trust and making Divine Mercy University a beneficiary. Contact your attorney and ask to add the following language:
"I give, devise and bequeath to the Institute for the Psychological Sciences, dba Divine Mercy University (Tax ID: 54-1911091), 45154 Underwood Lane, Sterling, VA 20166 (insert specific dollar amount, percentage, or residue of my estate), for its general use and purpose."
By making this simple update to your estate plan, you'll make a significant impact on DMU's work and avoid the federal, state, and local estate taxes that might otherwise affect your heirs.
IRA Charitable Rollover
Individuals who are 70½ or older may make a charitable gift to Divine Mercy University directly from their IRA. This tax-free contribution is a wonderful way to support our mission without counting the distribution as part of your adjusted gross income.
Donor advantages
The IRA Charitable Rollover lets you make donations directly to DMU from your IRA without counting the distribution as part of your AGI and without paying taxes on the amounts donated. You won't need to recognize the distribution as income for federal income tax purposes, and the distribution can count toward your minimum required IRA distribution.
To qualify
- You must be 70½ or older.
- Total combined IRA-charity rollover contributions cannot exceed $100,000 in any calendar year.
Further details
Charitable contributions from an IRA must go directly to Divine Mercy University and not to a donor-advised fund or private foundation. Distributions can only be made from traditional IRA accounts — to use funds in 403(b), 401(k), pension, or other retirement plans, they must first be rolled over tax-free to an IRA. Distributions must be made directly from the IRA trustee or administrator, payable to Divine Mercy University.
The Institute for the Psychological Sciences, dba Divine Mercy University, is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
Our Tax ID Number is 54-1911091.
