Transcript evaluation

Spanish university transcripts require evaluation by a NACES member service. DMU commonly accepts WES, ECE, and SpanTran evaluations.

Course-by-course evaluation is required for graduate admissions. Typical turnaround is 4–6 weeks; apply early.

English proficiency

TOEFL iBT minimum 80, IELTS minimum 6.5, or Duolingo English Test minimum 110.

Waivers may apply for applicants who completed a prior degree at an English-language institution. Contact international admissions to confirm eligibility.

Financial documentation

For programs requiring an I-20 (Psy.D., M.S. in Counseling residency dates), proof of funds for one academic year of tuition plus living expenses is required. Bank statements, sponsor letters, or scholarship awards are accepted.

Visa pathway

The M.S. in Counseling is hybrid: an F-1 visa is required only for residency dates, not for the full program duration.

The M.S. in Psychology and Spiritual Direction Certificate are fully online and do not require any U.S. visa.

The Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology is primarily onsite and requires full F-1 status.

Additional notes

DMU welcomes applicants from Spain. Several faculty members hold appointments or fellowships at Spanish institutions and can speak to the academic and cultural transition.

Catholic context

Spain has a strong Catholic intellectual tradition. DMU's integration of clinical science with Catholic anthropology resonates with many Spanish applicants who have been formed in that tradition.
